Design notes — 2026-10-27¶
Sorcerer is my Level 2 certification project, using a 54 mm nominal minimum-diameter airframe.
I’m using an AeroTech L1000W DMS, a 54 mm Von Karman nose cone, FR4/G10 fins, and dual deployment in a head-end configuration. Simulation predicts approximately 20,000 ft and Mach 2.2; I haven’t verified those figures in flight.
The dual-deployment avionics unit uses Wildman Rocketry G12CT-2.1 coupler tubes. Each tube is 6 in long, with a 2 in inner diameter and a 2.15 in outer diameter. The main body tube is a 34.157 in long Wildman Rocketry G12-2.1 tube, with a 2.152 in inner diameter and a 2.276 in outer diameter.
The fin set has three fins made from FR4/G10. The fins use a double-wedge airfoil and have a 6.6676 in root chord, 2.3134 in span, 2.6798 in tip chord, 3.6950 in sweep distance, and 0.1867 in thickness. They are positioned 7.6099 in from the base of the tube.
